-To O’Mahony from C. Murphy, Centre- Office Postmark-Received:

 Nov. 19 November,1864

November 1864, Pittsburgh. Encloses $16.25 'remittance for the month of Oct.'. Circle increasing in numbers 'and of a good class and I think we will have one of the best Circles in the country in a short time.' Impressed on Mr McCarthy when he was here, and also on Capt. Walsh, the importance of 'frequent communications' but has not received any letter from either of them since their departure. McCarthy promised to send a copy 'of the People Irish newspaper to our Circle but we have not got a single number of it yet.'

'I would now call your especial attention to this matter of communicating with this Circle often as I think the reasons are most obvious to your mind as well as the[y] are to us. The[y] have a most cheering effect on all the members and gives [sic\ both officers and men encouragement to work. If you furnish the People newspaper to the Circles we think that we should have a coppy sent to us.' Thinks it proper to mention these matters 'that you may know the want of the Circles.' Has not heard anything about the proceedings of the 'Central Council whitch met in your city lately.' Gives his full name and address : Cornelius Murphy, no. 53 Smithfield St. Hopes O'Mahony will note the points he has made.
