-To O’Mahony from P.J. Haire, Centre-June 16, 1864
16 June
1864, Fenian Hall, Quincy, Illinois. Encloses draft for $127, 'being a
portion of fund collected for C.E.I.R.B.'
Points out error in figures on last receipt sent by O'Mahony. Has 'initiated and authorized'
Daniel Hart of Grennell [?], Paushac [?]
co., Iowa, to organize 'our fellow countrymen'
in that neighbourhood;
he has been for some years a
fireman on a railroad, has some influence, and 'will,
I hope, do good service in arousing to action the dormant energies of our
friends in that locality.' All goes well
here. Regards to Mr Cavanagh 'and all friends.'
