8 June 1864, Hannibal, Missouri. Encloses cheque for $79, 'part of the contribution of the Hannibal Circle to Capt. Daly' [James Stephens] to be given him together with enclosed list [missing] as soon as he reaches New York. As list shows, $150 were 'contributed 01 subscribed,' of which $50 were paid over to Capt Daly, 'leaving a balance of $100 to be collected.' Enclosed cheque 'is all I have been able to collect thus far.

The list will show the names of the delinquents. What is to be done with them ?'. Thanks for letter of May 30, just received, enclosing treasurer's receipt for dues.
